If you will trust God in the pit, God will bring you into the palace. He will bless and favor you. Remember Joseph in the Old Testament, whose brothers stole his coat, threw him into a pit to die, then sold him into slavery? He was brought as a slave into Potiphar’s house and eventually placed in charge of Pharaoh’s palace, and all of Egypt submitted to him making Joseph second in command. The key to Joseph’s turnaround in life is what we can easily overlook. It’s the fact that he continued to do what was right whenever he was being wronged.
Have you been there before? How many times have you wanted to give back a “wrong for a wrong” response? Nothing good can ever come out of this mentality. But look what happened when Joseph chose to move forward with integrity: God rewarded him.
You may not be able to see it now, but the same God who did these things for Joseph will do them for you. He will restore the things taken from you. The Bible says, “God redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion.”
